     Everyone knows that the foundation of human health is laid in childhood, and, consequently, it is advisable to develop healthy interests and habits, the value attitude to health in this period. At the same age, the foundations of a healthy lifestyle, like a system of norms and rules, are laid. Full and proper nutrition of students is one of the conditions for maintaining health, high performance and endurance of a person.
     The school-lyceum №17 pays great attention to the issues of life and health of children and adolescents. Especially now the question of the organization of proper school nutrition was acute. Food should be balanced, during the day the child should receive the necessary minimum of food and mineral substances. It is also very important that the school instills in children the knowledge and skills in building a healthy diet. In this regard, the school has developed a program for the organization of the development of nutrition for schoolchildren, School Nutrition, which addresses all issues relating to the proper organization of nutrition for students.
     In the school canteen all sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the organization are fulfilled. Before entering the dining room for washing hands students organized a special place, equipped with hand dryers.
     In the dining room reigns the atmosphere of warmth and home comfort. The dining room staff always welcomes children with friendly smiles. Therefore, children are always happy to attend school canteen.
In the dining room according to the results of the questionnaire “Nutrition through the eyes of parents” to the question - does the catering system at school satisfy you? - 90% of parents gave a positive response. And to the question - are you satisfied with the quality of cooking? - 88% of parents answered positively.
     Today, the problem in organizing food for schoolchildren is drawing up a menu taking into account not only the physiological needs of children for biologically valuable substances, but the cost of food, the contradiction between the low price of school meals and the desire to comply with the established standards of nutrition for children and adolescents. However, the school administration and parents understand the importance of the issue and are doing everything possible to provide children with good nutrition.
